Multiple layers of peeling paint are scraped off and removed in layers revealing beautiful scratches and patterns in orange, gray, dark green, navy and splotches of light blue. A surface seemingly ugly and weathered becomes a thing of beauty.
When the walls of New York City subway stations are scraped to be painted layers upon layers of old paint are revealed. You are not only able to see the history of colors but also the grungy and beautiful patterns created by the scrapings. From afar it can be an off-putting site, but up close the hues and shapes are quite beautiful.
